PEGGY ANTHONY - MAJOR SPONSOR, RIP

The Worrell 1000 Organizing Authority, Race Committee and Volunteers were saddened to learn that Peggy Anthony, sister to Ron Anthony (Worrell competitor and winner in 1979) passed away in VA Beach in 2025. Because of Peggy's amazing support, we now offer the Ron Anthony Memorial Perpetual Trophy for Course Record (unveiled in 2022) and she continued to help run this legendary race until the day she passed. Without sponsors like Peggy Anthony, we simply could NOT make it all happen. She will always be a cherished partner to the event and to us all!
