Your OA is working hard getting together social events for each checkpoint. We have been in contact with some of the local Fleets and businesses and are planning get-togethers for the racers and their teams. Check back here often, as details will be added as we plan them.

Monday, May 9th 7pm - ?

Thank you Jensen Beach Courtyard Marriott for placing extra staff on for the night of our stay, May 9th, 2022! Lisa Gilrane, the Hotel Manager has stated that the Tiki Bar on the pool deck will be well staffed for our group to enjoy their food and beverage offerings. And - Spoiler Alert! The bar can stay open later for drinks if we request it! This is open to all - no wristband required.

The Worrell Teams, OA and Staff are invited to the Fish Camp Grill to enjoy an evening of live music, food and drink specials! Wristbands will be required for special discounts - these will be distributed to team managers at the skipper's meeting in Jensen Beach the morning of May 10th.

The Worrell Teams, OA & RC will be hosted by the owners of the Ocean Deack Bar and Grille in Daytona Beach for  a buffet to include Rasta Chicken, Shrimp, Pork and bowl fixins'. Rice, black beans, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, corn.... it's gonna be a FEAST! Drinks are available for purchase at the bar. Open to Worrell competitors, RC & Staff ONLY. Wristband will be required - These will be distributed the morning of the 11th at the skipper's meeting at Cocoa Beach.

The Worrell OA, RC and Staff would like to thank Donna Lilly, Director of Sales & Marketing at our Host Hotel: Hampton Inn Jacksonville Beach/Oceanfront for working with us to secure a hold on the oceanfront covered deck area, right next to the Tides Tiki Bar & Grill for the Worrell 1000 group! The restaurant and Tiki Bar offer fantastic menus, and we truly appreciate them setting aside these areas just for us! A wristband will be required for entry into our reserved area. These will be distributed to the team managers when they arrive in Jax Beach.

Low Country Boil Sponsored By:Thanks to Erin and Charles Raley, Attorneys of Raley & Raley - A fully sponsored low-country boil is being provided to all Worrell Teams, OA and Race Staff! Catered by Tybee's own Sting Rays Restaurant, a shuttle bus will be provided to bring folks to the screened pavilion at Memorial Park behind City Hall. A wristband will be distributed to team managers the morning of the lay day (5/14). Only those with provided wristbands will                                                  be allowed on the event shuttle and into the pavilion.

Special Thanks to Lesley Montee, Sales & Catering Manager at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Hotel in Surfside Beach for coordinating not only drink specials, but a LIVE BAND! (better than a dead one, lol) for the evening of Monday, May 16th!
Open to all (participants and fans alike!)
The Oceanfront Restaurant and the lounge will play host to us and the Band DNR - Playing Classic Rock, Country and Blues. Visit their website here: are encouraged to come have a great meal, raise some drinks and enjoy the music while debriefing and getting ready for the next leg the following morning!

We are SUPER excited to announce that Billy Baggett, owner of Blockade Runner Beach Resort in Wrightsville Beach will be providing a complimentary keg for the racers and their ground crews - Setting up around 3:30 - JUST about time the racers will start arriving!!!!! Now THERE's a incentive to get to the finish line quick!
A wristband will be provided to team managers at the skipper's meeting the morning of May 17th in Surfside.
That evening, there will be a special BBQ dinner for purchase - Tickets will be available to ground crews when they arrive at the resort for check-in. And from 5-7pm, there will be Live Music poolside!!!!!!!!!
Bill Baggett and the Blockade Runner have been a part of the Worrell for many years, and in 2000, sponsored the winning team - We are very pleased to welcome them aboard for 2022!!!!!!!!

A wristband will be provided to team managers at the skipper's meeting the morning of the 18th in Wrightsville. **Drinks are available for purchase at the bar**

If you were in Atlantic Beach in 2019 - The MAYOR of the City showed up and gave the Worrell an OFFICIAL Proclamation! What's in store for this year????? A great evening, that's for sure.

OA Sponsored Tailgate Pizza Party!

Your Organizing Authority will be throwing a tailgate pizza party (pizzas and paper products provided) in the parking lot of the host hotel (The Cape Hatteras Motel). BYOB! Pizzas will arrive hot and fresh at 7pm sharp, ordered from Gidget's in Avon (rumoured to be the best pizza in the OBX!) Open to Worrell Teams, OA and Staff ONLY. Wristbands will be provided to team managers when they arrive with ground crews at Hatteras.

Rudee’s in conjunction with Pigman’s Bar~B~Que are throwing a BBQ!
Bring-your-own Beverage and an appetite, ‘cuz there's gonna be a LOT of great food. Kill Devil Hills is a new stop for the Worrell 1000 and we're excited to be there! Thanks to Carter Turpin of Rudee's Restaurant & his pals at Pigman's BBQ and Performance Food Group as well as the Host Hotel Manager, Francisco Valdovinos - The Worrell Teams, Ground Crews & Worrell Staff are all invited to the tent that will be set up near the Host Hotel. Food starts at 5:30!

Big Thanks go out to Murphy's Irish Pub in VA Beach for inviting us to spend the evening of Saturday, May 21st with them - Your OA will provide the teams and their ground crews with wristbands so that they can enjoy:

Murphy's will also have a band for the night! The pub is located directly across the street from the host hotel - What a great way to relax and unwind after the big finish - Who will the winners be????? Let's all get out to Murphy's and raise a toast to the newly crowned champs!

Awards Banquet and Ceremony


Thanks to Colleen Cunningham, Owner of the Lunasea Restaurant, The Worrell 1000 2022 will hold its awards banquet and Ceremony at their AWESOME restaurant and bar: 206 22nd Street VA Beach. The buffett will be provided, drinks available at the bar.

Open to Worrell Teams, OA, Staff and Invited Guests ONLY. Wristbands will be provided by the Communications Director Saturday afternoon, May 21st.

Lunasea will open its doors to everyone at 1pm - Come on down!

Although the banquet is Invite-Only, the Restaurant opens to the general public at 1pm - PLEASE come on in, enjoy the great food and drink prices of Lunasea and rub elbows with all the teams! There will be a Worrell 1000 Photo area - Take pics with your favorite sailors, take part in the sea-stories that will abound and raise a toast to the winners. Be there!!!!!
