Peggy Anthony, sister to our fallen, Worrell Champion and Competitor, Ron Anthony, has generously become a major sponsor for the event in 2022. Ron competed in the race in the 1970's and 80's, winning in 1979. Ron died tragically in a plane crash in 1983. Bob Taylor, one of Ron's dearest friends, and the person who got him into sailing, will be on-hand at the Awards Banquet on May 22nd to deliver a memorial speech for Ron, authored by his sister Peggy - And the Organizing Authority will be unveiling the new "Ron Anthony Memorial Perpetual Award for Course Record."
